Review: Best of Glay

Artist: GLAY
Duration: 61:46
Genre: JRock
Label: Polydor
My Rating:
Rating: 5.0 (3 votes)
Release: 2001
Summary: In Japanese siene even, I tend to not listen to JPOP. Because the music tendency is hiphop, rap and so on. Individually I don't like such music genre. I like the songs that have Japanese unique melodies.
That is the reasons that I tend to listen to 80' J-POP songs like Anzentitai, BoƒÓwy and so on.
But in such unlike music scene for me, Glay is different. Because in 21 century even, their music have the unique and beautiful melodies in Japanese. The songs that have the strongest features will be Zutto Futaride, the song is slow tempo ballad but have very beautiful melodies. About However it can be said same things.
Before their major debut, Glay did hard practice in live houses etc. And at that time, they respect the original and basical and legend 80' Jpop rock bands like BoƒÓwy and so on. The Glay's music stance that have continued to now time will be given the influences by Boowy etc. And the truth that I like Glay and Boowy both will not be always just a chance.
This album made memorial giga hits in Jpop scene. Many Japanese have this album. But I think that the reason of the incredible sales was reflected by their wonderful music making techniqu like their beautiful melodies. The reasongs that recent Jpop songs tend to be best seller is the singer's stile or looking or vogue etc, and the main music stance tend to be low.
But Glay have wonderful music sences in such Jpop scene.
Thank you for reading poor English.

Robotech Perfect Soundtrack Album

Artist: Original Soundtrack
Genre: Soundtracks
Label: Streamline Records
My Rating:
Rating: 5.0 (38 votes)
Release: 1996
Summary: SImply put,

whether you are a fan of Robotech: the Macross Saga, or any of the sequels (The Robotech Masters and Next Generation) or not; you HAVE To buy this collection!

The best tracks include, of course: the main theme--so uplifitng, a combination of classical music and 80s' intensity!the track entitled "Red Alert" indeed sounds like army personnel readying for comabat...
and the ever catching tunes Roy Fokker's Theme (track 31) and Rick Hunter's Theme (track 27) captured the characters' persona and action.

The musical songs by Michael Bradley(Lancer) and Reba West (Minmei) outperforms even live singers, well, ok, I'm going overboard with my praise here, but they really give it their all....

as a Robotech fan growing up in the 80s, I will always replay this perfect collection with fondness. And, as I pointed out before, any music lover of movie soundtracks, or even good songs; must buy this CD. And, any Robotech fan out there who hasn't gotten this to be part of your collection--do so now!

fantastic!
(although the 'Broken Heart' track is a little off, they could have remastered it from the DVD collection....that is my one minor complaint that this track is totally different than in the series).
